eventful evening

Well last night we went out for Dinner with Sophie and Justin. We went to Licks. It was kind different. It is like a fast food place, but the burgers and stuff are cooked there while you wait. And... they are fresh burgers.. not processed patties! It was a really good dinner.
We then went bowling, after visiting a few alleys before finding one that we could play at. With Sophie being pregnant, we didn't really thinkn it safe to play 10 pin. WE found a nice place to play 5 pin. It was intresting playing in this alley, as the pins were free fall.... meaning.... not like Kenora, no strings. Also.... much straighter lanes! It was nice doing something different. We usually do the same thing on a friday night. I think it would be nice to go out and do something fun again soon.

Have a great day!

Dimples hath returned! Up yours insurance company!

Got it back Thursday, in tipical style of this saga they even fixed the broken battery temp sensor that wasn't even there any more! What's left of the old one is sitting on top of my microwave :)

Oh well, I'll put up a picture of it l8r, and I dare you to come here and by looking at the paint tell me that they replaced the hood.... So much for needing to blend the fenders and the bumper eh!

About time!!

After almost 5 years, I got to meet Kris. We have been chatting for the past five years, and today we went to Toronto and picked him up and went for lunch! It was soo great! I was soo happy to finally meet him after all this time. We brought him back to Brampton, and he got his picture taken with a COP. Hehad just said that he wanted a picture with a police officer, and we drive by one that is just sitting in his car doing paperwork. Jason turned around and Kris and I got out. Kris asked the Cop if he could have is picture taken with him.. The Cop also a Chris was happy to do so.
Here are pictures of Kris and the cop, Kris at BP, and Taylor taking a pic of himself, and of course one of Kris and I.

OMG what did she do to his hair???

Look at my kids hair!!!

Don't want to drive....

Ok, so the more I drive, the less I want to. The more scared I am to drive. I went to Missasuga today to get my name changed on my health card (yes... I know 4 months later..) I was so scared when driving back. Everytime I touched my breaks I was scared I was going to hit someone. I don't know what to do. I shouldn't be so scared. It is almost two weeks since the accident, I shouldn't be just getting so scared now. I had a panic attack on the way home. I took the 403/410, and didn't think I was going to make it. I was scared to do more then 90 km/h, and that could get me into an accident too.
Well I made it home, sat down, had a cry, and then had to go get Taylor. I have to still drive bus today, and everyday next week. I know that I need to get over this fear.

R.I.P. "Dimples" ?? I think not!

For those who ar interested in the saga of "dimples" the car (AKA, our '98 Dodge Neon family bus), here's what she looks like.

Definately looks like a write off eh? I mean, look at all that damage! For those who don't know me personaly I'm a very sarcastic person. Some how, the apraiser thinks that adds up to $4700 in damages! Here's a side look of the two fenders.

The damage continues you say? All those dents is how the car got it's fabled (well, atleast in my family) name. We bought it like that, it has various dings and dents all down the passengers side, we joke that the person who owned her before us parked "By feel." I missed taking a picture of the passengers door, there is a small scratch there I've been meaning to fix for a while now. All this was equated into the estimate, even after I had told both the body shop and the insurance company that this was pre-accident damage (heck, pre-weownedthecar damage.)!!!

Here's some shots of the bumper....

Wow, definatly worthy of replacing the entire bumper eh? Gotta push that estimate up far enough that we can total the car and give them $2000 less then a comperable replacement car will cost!

Couple quick under the hood shots. Now, I will admit, the easiest and cheapest way to fix the cross-member/rad support is to replace it, so I can't complain there...

Well, a call to my mom after the apraiser tried to get us to OK the write off (BTW, this guy is _good_ at what he does.... Dosn't give you a chance to say a thing, and definately takes control of the conversation, tell you what you're doing, not what he's doing for you) poke her a few times, give her some phone numbers and let her fly! (No offence mom, you're _good_ at what you do, standing up for people being @$#%ed by "The Man") So, by mom's numbers the estimate is more like $2500, minus our $500 deductable, means hopfully they won't write off the car.

Oh! Also, they wanted to replace the A/C condenser (Like a rad for your A/C system, what actualy cools the freeon) I told the guy "Um, that didn't work before the accident" he replies with "Well we have to fix it back to the way it was before the accident". Apparently they don't have to, and they're not. Telling them that if they replace the coil they're fixing the entire A/C system which would entail a lot of work (hence why it didn't work before) probably swayed them from that rule. Thanks Mom! :) Lets cross our fingers and pray that they decide to aprove it, because I sure can't afford to replace "dimples", besides, it just wouldn't be the same car....

BTW! This, is what I call a write off!

Ok, it looks much more dramatic in person....

Snip Snip

OK s I got a bit miffed today... rather all week. And decided that it was time to cut the mop. I had to do something because with all the natural curl, it was driving me nuts. Now that it is shorter, it should be easier to take care of. We walked into the 50's Dinner and the waitress even noticed a difference!

Pre-Ikea

So before Ikea was a trip to Purolator, which had it's up/downs as they didn't want to release our parcel to us cuz we didn't have ID with our new address..... So we got our box, it ended up being the exercise bike we bought through Air Miles that they said wouldn't be shipped till the 10th. Not that I'm going to complain. Here are few shots of assembling it and Robyn taking it for a test drive. One nice thing about it being recumbent, much easier to do something else while peddling!

IKEA.... it fits!......

OK.. so for the very first time in my life...... I went to IKEA.. it fits! Jason, Taylor and I, took Sophie with us tonight. We had a blast. Did you know that they have on site babysitting?? It is great... you drop your kid off.. and go shopping for an hour. We didn't quite make the hour, but we had a great time. We even had supper there. It was kind of cool. I didn't know IKEA... it fits! had so many things. I can't wait until we have our own house so we can go shopping there for everything for the house. Check out the great buys I found. I didn't even spend $80!!
The picture of Taylor sleeping has his cute dragon with him. He saw it... wanted it.. I bought it!!!

Another day

Well we are still dealing with the insurance companies, and all this crazy stuff. I hope it is all over with soon. I am loosing too much sleep over all this. I feel guilty enough, and feel like crap.
Everyday that I drive the bus, I get worried and scared to drive. I am so going to fight this, because I wasn't in the wrong.

Taylor is having a good day. We got his report card, he seems to be doing well in school. If only he would listen and pay attention to his teacher. We are going to work more on things at home. We got him a new game for his v-smile that helps with spelling, so I hope that will help. When he and I play "GO FISH" he calls the King a H. I am not really sure why, but we are working on this.
I hope to post some pictures soon.
